Digital X-Ray

uTOEpia uses digital X-rays to image our patients’ feet and ankles. Digital X-rays allow us to digitally transfer and enhance images. They are safer using less radiation.

Ultrasound Imaging

Ultrasound imaging is a medical test that helps podiatrists diagnose and treat medical conditions. It allows the doctor to diagnose problems with the soft tissues of the foot, including plantar fasciitis, ligament tears, tendon tears, sprains, neuromas (nerve tumors), and ganglion cysts.

Often, an ultrasound can replace an MRI for surgical planning. Ultrasounds are done in the office at the time of your visit. An ultrasound can also be used in the office to assist with procedures, like injections. The cortisone injection can be placed more accurately with ultrasound.

Custom Orthotics/Bracing

Custom orthotics are prescription arch supports made only for You. The orthotics match your feet exactly. Custom orthotics are fabricated after we have examined your lower extremity, feet and biomechanics. The feet are casted so the device can correct poor biomechanics and support Your foot structure.

There are 2 types of custom orthotics:

  1. Functional orthotics— These devices control abnormal motion of the foot or joints that cause pain of the extremity, even the knee, hip and back.
  2. Accommodative orthotics— These devices are made softer to give cushioning and support for a foot that support. They can treat diabetic wounds, painful calluses, and other uncomfortable conditions with deformity that puts pressure on the bottom of the foot like rheumatoid arthritis.

Podiatrists use orthotics to treat plantar fasciitis, tendinitis, diabetic foot ulcers, and multiple other diagnoses. Research studies Show that podiatrist-prescribed custom foot orthotics decrease foot pain and improve function.

Custom orthotics cost usually much less than off the shelf supports sold at major arch support retail stores. Custom orthotics are made of top-notch materials and last many years when cared for correctly.
